Don't Let Winter..Die You
Winter is here and I believe that most of us in the United States have felt some affect from it. Whether is has been the frigid temperatures or the horrible snow storms leaving over 6 feet in Boston and other places...we have all felt some affect. And though winter makes us want to be still and sit down and remain isolated...we don't have to stop. In other words, don't die in winter.
This time of year slows us all down because to be frank, it is too cold to want to do anything but I found out that when we are still..when we are focused and not running here and there...when we are able to listen to our loved ones and think..we have the capacity to be more creative...so why not? Why not start that project you have been talking about all year...why not put together ideas for that business you have wanted to start...why not get together with friends in the warmth of someone's home and brainstorm so that when the weather warms up...you are fresh and ready to tackle a new idea...invention...project...you are ready to begin.
Winter may be the end of pretty flowers and green grass...it may be the end of warm temperatures and walks in the park...it may be the end of sitting on the front porch sipping on some good old lemonade...but it does not have to be the end..of you. In fact, like the animals who hibernate...we all need time to recharge our batteries..time to refresh our ideas...time to change some things that did not work last year and do something else that might this year. Take advantage of this time of solitude...when you are home alone...when you are snowed in...when the number of co-workers at your job have diminished due to low census or work load and begin..again.
Winter is never the end of anything but rather...a time of rejuvenation so that trees and grasses..brush and flowers have a change to begin again. Right now our trees and our grasses and flower beds and brush look dead but believe me, as you have seen year in and year out...they are not dead only dormant because when the time comes...they will begin..again. Everything under the sun needs rest, some time when they are not producing or nurturing, sprouting or growing and so do you so take this time to revamp, revise, refresh, restart and when spring comes, and it will, and the temperatures rise and people begin to mix and mingle around again...you can say as in the words of Diana Ross..."I'm coming out!"
